




The project enjoys privileged views over the city of Barcelona and the sea in the background. The Urban Development Regulations carefully condition and regulate the situation of the volumes of the building, with the criterion of guaranteeing views of neighbouring plots and an implementation of the building that is not aggressive towards the surroundings, minimising the existence of retaining walls.
The 6 houses are different in detail, but are united by the same formal discourse that gives unity to the project. The original compact massing defined by the planning, is enriched by a methodical work of interior emptying and cutting back of the envelope, generating rich and complex volumes with ventilation and views to practically every corner of the building. The 6 houses are different, but with the same logic and easily understandable: they are fragments of the same reality.
The freedom that gives us the coherence of a language and a method, allows us great flexibility to adapt the project to different programme needs and layouts. It also frees us from the bond of a rigid prior formal composition.
The basic layout of the ground floor comprises the main entrance, the living room, kitchen and a toilet. The living room has large openings and overlooks the garden area surrounding the houses. On the first and second floors are the bedrooms and studios with their corresponding services. On the roof there is a terrace limited by a sheet of water with a carefully designed composition.
We understand the terraces as a whole to be an outdoor space for private and recreational use, with a minimum treatment of wooden paving, natural stone, water and vegetation. On the roof (upper terrace), the volume of the access staircase integrates a space for facilities and allows the solar panels to be located on the back.
A lift connects all floors.
In the basement, a common access allows the entrance of cars in both garages of the houses, and each house has a facilities area, laundry and ironing room, storage room and private access to the upper floors.
